The aims of the group are to have a provocative and interesting exchange of views between members on subjects in the news. 

Unfortunately due to the very nature of U3A there is not the opportunity to have contributions from across the complete age spectrum. 

Every effort is made to ensure that each member has the opportunity to air his/her views which leads us to how large the group should be ? 10 to 12 is the ideal size, the 18 we had on one occasion being too many. 

It is important that the views of each member are respected.  Heated situations can occur especially in the realms of politics and religion (plural in today’s world).
